Who collects personal data and who is responsible for processing it?

The processing of personal data collected by U Match Lda., or provided to it, is the responsibility of U Match Lda., with the unique legal person number and registration at the Commercial Registry Office 517698323 with its registered office at Rua de Santos Pousada, 157, 4, Sala 17 | 4000-485 Porto.

How is personal data collected and what kind of data is collected?

Please note that you are not obliged to provide your personal data to U Match Lda, but if you choose not to, we may not be able to offer you our services, manage your application or answer any questions you may have.

U Match may collect your personal data in various ways, including when you send us spontaneous applications, register on university job platforms, job fairs, employee referrals, ex-employees, partnerships with the aim of being contacted by U Match, enter into a contract with us (employment, provision of services or other), fill in your client file, or communicate with our teams.

If you are a candidate, in order to identify and obtain the best job opportunities for you, we need to process certain information about you.  

We only ask for information that will be relevant to us, such as name, age, contact details, education information, employment history, immigration status, financial information (where we need to carry out financial background checks), tax and social security numbers. Where appropriate, and in accordance with the law, we may also collect information or miscellaneous data about any criminal convictions.

If you are a client of U Match, we need to collect and use information about the contact person or other people in the company as part of our service provision, in order to provide the most complete service possible and so that our contractual relationship can be properly concluded.

If you are a supplier, we need some information about your personal details in order to ensure that everything works properly. We need contact details for certain people in your company so that we can communicate with you, as well as other information that someone in your company has chosen to share with us.

When we refer to suppliers, we mean any companies (including sole traders) and atypical service providers, such as independent contractors and self-employed persons, who provide services to U Match. In certain circumstances, U Match will subcontract the services you provide to customers to third-party suppliers who perform the services on U Match's behalf. In this context, suppliers who are sole traders, self-employed or employees of suppliers will be treated as candidates for data protection purposes. Please note that in this context, U Match requires suppliers to communicate the relevant parts of this Privacy Policy (namely the sections addressed to candidates) to their employees.

Certain categories of personal data, such as those revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data for uniquely identifying a person, data concerning health or concerning sex life or sexual orientation are classified as "special categories of personal data" and benefit from additional protection under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). U Match limits as much as possible the circumstances in which it collects and processes these special categories of data, only doing so when you have given your consent. In order to provide our users with faster and more personalized services, U Match may use a browser feature called "cookies", which will allow U Match to customize your services and website according to your interests and needs, allowing you to streamline your future activities and your experience on the U Match website. In this way, data may be collected on parameters and settings relating to the browser, operating system and geo-location.

During part of your browsing on the U Match website we may also use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times.
